The retrofit is<br \/>\nscheduled in September 2025, in conjunction with the ship&#8217;s periodical dry-dock.<br \/>\nThe shaft generator will redirect a part of the main engine&#8217;s output to generate electricity by using<br \/>\nthe rotation of the propeller shaft during navigation, allowing the shaft generator alone to supply<br \/>\nelectricity used on the ship. This will eliminate the need for a fuel-consuming generator, resulting<br \/>\nin reduced fuel consumption and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, as well as reduced engine<br \/>\nroom noise.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-407\"
